Hi Parents and Students!
If you're like me, warmer weather is on your mind as spring is right around the corner. Before you know it, summer will be here! With that in mind, it's not too early to consider the North Carolina Suzuki Institute held in Greenville at East Carolina University in July. This institute is like a fun summer camp for Suzuki violinists. They will get to spend a whole week playing violin, making friends, and learning lots of new, fun things in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Students will share a daily master class with a fantastic Suzuki teacher and a couple of peers near their same age and ability level, as well as larger group lessons with children of a wider range of abilities which will give them greater exposure to other pieces of repertoire and motivate them to move forwards. Beginners learn by watching more advanced students, and more advanced students learn by helping beginners. There are also fun social events and concerts to enjoy as well, not to mention the benefit of exposing your child to a university campus.
I hope that you will enroll your child in this fantastic experience. Suzuki Institutes are held across the nation and we are very fortunate to have one within an hour of home! Here is the website for the institute, and a snapshot of pricing is listed below. Registration is already open and closes June 1st. Enrollment is limited so please apply as soon as possible. http://www.ecu.edu/cs-cfac/music/suzuki/index.cfm
