Last weekend I hosted the Fiddle Workshop with Lisa and Derek Deakins in my music studio. Ten local violinists and fiddlers came out to learn a few new tricks. Lisa taught her version of Cotton Eyed Joe to the group, complete with a shuffle kick off and tag. She also discussed and demonstrated what a fiddler might do when playing in a band to enhance a tune without playing over top of the vocalist. Everyone had a great time and I am hoping to collaborate with Lisa to do another workshop in the fall. Here are a few photos for your enjoyment!
