2015 Student Goals

During the first two weeks of lessons following Christmas vacation, I asked my students what they would like to achieve this year. Whether they wanted to achieve their goal by the end of the school year or by the end of the calendar year didn't matter to me, as long as they set a reasonable goal to strive for; as the saying goes, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars!"

Here are just a few of the goals my students are working towards this year:
  • Complete Suzuki Book 1
  • Improve bow tone
  • Learn vibrato
  • Learn Hedwig's Theme
  • Learn Allegro by the end of the school year
(This student is moving away! :(  )
  • Learn jigs & reels for a summer trip to Ireland
    (That's exciting, isn't it? I'm jealous!)
  • Learn O Come, Little Children and Away in a Manger by Christmas
  • Learn to play harmonies
I just finished posting their goals in my studio for them to see all year. My hope is that it will provide encouragement to them on those days they don't necessarily feel like practicing. I look forward to each of my students feeling a sense of satisfaction when they reach their goals!
