I hope you'll attend the Celtic Christmas Concert this Friday night featuring my friend Jennifer Licko. She is a wonderful vocalist and sings in both English and Gaelic. She will also be accompanied by a fiddler and guitarist. David and I have performed with her in the past and she really puts on a wonderful show. The venue, R.A. Fountain General Store, is a delightful little gem tucked away off of Hwy 264 in quaint Fountain, NC. I guarantee you'll have a great time if you go! Additional details below!

Jennifer Licko's Celtic Christmas Show at Fountain Friday Night • Fountain Christmas Parade 2 pm Saturday
[Fountain, NC] Jennifer Licko returns to Fountain General Store for a Friday night holiday concert of English, Scots Gaelic and Irish Gaelic classics. She will be accompanied for the first time in Fountain by the Irish guitarist Patsy O'Brien, a native of County Cork, Ireland, and fiddler Zack Kline.
Licko, a Swansboro native and music graduate of East Carolina University, is bringing her Celtic Christmas show to Fountain for the third consecutive year.
Her guitarist for this evening's performance, Patsy O'Brien, has been called "Ireland's best kept musical secret." He won the American Folk Alliance's Best Song of 2003 and his performances, one reviewer says, are "foot stomping and ocean breezy," like a combination of Van Morrison and Robbie Robertson.
Fiddler Zack Kline, who grew up in Colorado, had become "Minnessota's brightest young fiddle talent" before moving recently to Chicago, where he performs with the Orange Mighty Trio and teaches fiddle and violin. He will bring a touch of bluegrass as well as classical to tonight's program.
Jennifer Licko's Celtic Christmas Concert on December 6 begins at 7:30. General admission is $10; reserved seats, which are recommended for this performance, are $12.50.
Fountain's annual Christmas parade is Saturday at 2 p.m. R.A. Fountain will be open at noon and after the parade until 4 p.m. Russ Varnell and Too Country's Saturday night concert has been cancelled.
R.A. Fountain is also closed on December 13 and December 14.
Fountain General Store is located in historic downtown Fountain, at the intersection of US 258 and NC 222. Its family atmosphere is smoke- and alcohol-free.
